We offer for sale a small but significant handcrafted majolica vase, beautiful on its own but easy to combine with other pieces in a splendid combination, as shown in our photo set. Dated 1981 at the base, with a signature that we have not been able to attribute, it recalls the primitive style ceramics produced in Italy during the mid-20th century modern. As per the majolica technique, an earthenware structure was immersed in a bath of glaze, followed by more glazes in various shades of aqua green and light blue with a hint of sienna, were poured to create a layering of color and product that would animate the texture of the object. The primitive design of this object recalls the stylised shape of a heart with its two main veins that act as openings. The item is in good condition, with no breaks or imperfections, just a splendid patina.
