A small side table, model 167, with organically shaped tabletop resting on three wooden legs with brass feet. Geometric wooden inlays in east Indian rosewood and oak. Havent been able to find this table in in any vintage catalog but its probably produced by the manufacturer H Sundling in the small town of Trans in southern Sweden. Signed No 167. The legs can be unscrewed for easy transport and storage.
During the golden age of Scandinavian modern in the mid 20th century, several Swedish manufacturers started producing small side tables. As a part of the modernist lifestyle, these tables were light and easy to move around in the home. Decorated with artistic wooden inlays, these small tables are beautiful artworks as well as functional pieces of furniture. The manufacturer H Sundling was founded in 1907 as a producer of clothespins but was soon developed into a manufacturer of wooden furniture.
