A large vase produced during the mid-20th century modern in East Germany by the Scheurich Keramik company, as attested by the label still present on the neck of the vase. This item is part of the large production of East German Pottery worked with the Fat Lava technique. I love the earthy tones of this vintage vase with a soft and rounded quadrangular section. A pale brown glaze covers the rough, almost hammered texture of the surface, allowing a glimpse of the earthenware color underneath. This layering is especially evident in the engraved lines; spirals that recall mandala decorations present on all faces of the vase. The vase is in good vintage condition and free of breaks.
