Established in 1987, its primary mission includes conducting combat search and rescue operations, providing humanitarian assistance and disaster response, and operating specialized airlift and air refueling missions. The wing operates HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters, and MC-130J Commando II aircraft. The 920th Rescue Wing’s motto is “That Others May Live.”
