The 142nd Fighter Wing (USAF) is a unit of the United States Air Force reserve forces, primarily based at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Air Combat Command and provides operational support to both the Air Force and Air National Guard. The 142nd Fighter Wing’s primary mission involves conducting air defense for the Northeastern United States, using advanced F-15C Eagle fighter aircraft. Throughout its history, it has been deployed overseas on numerous occasions, most notably during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
