The 106th Rescue Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force, falling under the jurisdiction of the Air Combat Command. Based at Francis S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base on Long Island, New York, its mission is primarily focused on combat search and rescue (CSAR) operations as well as humanitarian and disaster response missions. The 106th Rescue Wing operates a fleet of HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, which are specially equipped for nighttime CSAR and aerial refueling missions, in addition to the HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter.
