12 persons Fish cutlery set by WMF, Germany 1903-1910 An Art Nouveau set silver plated fish cutlery set made by WMF 12 knives and 12 forks with pearl edge handle and engraved Art Nouveau style blades by the German Company WMF. (Wurttenbergische Metallwarenfabric) The set is in used condition and not boxed The blades of the forks and knives are marked. The mark I/O = Normal thickness of gilding or silver-plating The WMF mark “ostrich”, if there is not enough space for marking, then the special “small marks” should be applied. In this period, WMF factory used in such cases the standard cutlery mark, namely, the “ostrich” image in horizontal rhombus. and was used throughout 1903-1910. Before the foundation of WMF, Daniel Straub had founded his first manufacturing company, Maschinenfabrik Geislingen. In 1880, the company merged with Metallwarenfabrik Ritter & Co. from Esslingen to form the public limited company Wrttembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF) in Geislingen. The measurement is 20 cm long and apron 1,5 cm diagonal. The weight is total 1245 grams
