This is a large vintage decorative amphora. A German, ceramic serving jug or vase, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1970.

Striking, bright example of West German lava ceramics. Displaying a desirable aged patina, free of cracks or losses. Lustrous glaze beams above a rich orange ground and globular amphora shape. Distinctive lava finish with a wavy band of dark brown to the centre. Maker’s marks to base read ‘Bay, W-Germany, 71 45’.

This is a large, vibrant vintage decorative amphora, blessed with great colour and sinuous forms. Delivered polished and ready to display.
