The 386th Air Expeditionary Wing is a component of the United States Air Force. It is headquartered at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, and falls under the operational control of the U.S. Pacific Command’s Fifth Air Force. Its mission includes providing theater-wide air power projection capabilities in support of the U.S. and its allies in the Indo-Pacific region. The Wing consists of multiple units, including fighter squadrons, airlift squadrons, maintenance groups, and support organizations. The 386th AEW’s primary aircraft are the F-15C/D Eagles and C-130 Hercules. Its activities encompass a wide range of missions such as air defense, close air support, airdrop operations, search and rescue, and humanitarian aid.
