The 13th Air Expeditionary Group (13 AEG) is a United States Air Force unit primarily responsible for airbase and air defense operations. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Air Combat Command (ACC). The group was established in March 2008 following the transformation of the 13th Air Force into an Air Expeditionary Force (AEF). Its headquarters is located at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The 13 AEG provides forces and assets for deployment worldwide to support combatant commander requirements, as well as a variety of contingency operations. It consists of several wings and groups, including the 4th Fighter Wing, the 74th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, and the 75th Expeditionary Air Base Group. The unit’s mission is to deliver airpower wherever it is needed, in support of United States strategic objectives and global security efforts.
