The 455th Air Expeditionary Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force, falling under the operational control of the U.S. Air Forces Central Command. Primarily based at Joint Base Wright-Patterson in Ohio, this wing supports global air and space power by providing strategic mobility, global reach, rapid response capabilities, and theater sustainment. It is composed of numerous squadrons responsible for various tasks such as airlift, air refueling, combat rescue, and command and control operations. The 455th AEW’s mission is to provide the combatant commander with flexible airpower to execute the full spectrum of military operations across the range of military operations, from peacetime through sustained contingency operations.
