It is stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, and falls under the jurisdiction of the Eight Air Force’s Eleventh Air Force Wing (11 AF WG).The 354th FW’s primary mission is to operate, maintain, and train with the F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation multirole fighters. The wing also provides theater security cooperation through the 563rd Operations Group, which conducts airlift operations. Additionally, the 354th Maintenance Group supports the operational readiness of all assigned aircraft and equipment.Throughout its history, the 354th Fighter Wing has been associated with various fighter aircraft, including the P-39 Airacobra, P-51 Mustang, F-86 Sabre, F-100 Super Sabre, A-7 Corsair II, and F-16 Fighting Falcon. The 354th FW was initially activated in 1942 during World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations.
