The 39th Flying Training Squadron is a component of the United States Air Force (USAF) based at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Established on August 1, 1950, the squadron’s primary role involves pilot training, specifically for T-6 Texan II aircraft. The 39th FTS is part of the 1st Flying Training Wing and the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). Throughout its history, the squadron has contributed to the development and preparation of numerous USAF pilots.
